CAPTAIN HALE said that the area of responsibility should be governed by problems rather than by territories. He suggested also that if the J.I.C./J.I.S. system were adopted, a regional title such as the Joint Intelligence Committee, Far East, would be more effective than a local title such as the Joint Intelligence Committee, Singapore. He referred to the interests of the Joint Intelligence Committee, Australia, in that area, and hoped that close links would be maintained, preferably by Australian representation on the Joint Intelligence Committee at Singapore.
