2. FIRE IN THE PHOTOGRAPHIC SECTION OF M.E.I.U. THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a minute≠ by the Secretary, covering a minute by the Joint Photographic Reconnaissance Committee, reporting that, as a result of a fire in the Photographic Section of the Middle East Interpretation Unit, films covering areas in Persia, Iraq and the Levant States had been destroyed. Instructions had been given for copy negatives to be produced from existing prints, though these would not be so satisfactory as the originals.
