TOPOGRAPHICAL CHECK RECONNAISSANCE IN S.E.A.C. THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a minute by the Secretary (J.I.C./1384/45 dated 26th September, 1945), covering a letter from the superintendent, Inter-Service Topographical Department, (S.E.A.C.), reporting that the Director of Intelligence, S.E.A.C., had stressed the desirability of arranging for check reconnaissances to be carried out for the verification and amplication of topographical reports on Far Eastern countries where there were now opportunities for doing so.
