BRIGADIER HIRSCH said that larger scale cover for certain oilfields in Sumatra was required by the War Office, of which he would provide the details. COLONEL WILLIS said that it was important that the programme should be implemented now on the lines proposed by SACSEA. Further items, as required, could then be procured later. He said that map coverage of many of the areas was poor and, therefore, accurate photographic cover was difficult to carry out. He considered it essential that the Radar Survey Section and Radar Controlled Air Survey Unit now on call to SEAC should be sent to South East Asia to assist in this matter.
