THE DIRECTOR OF MILITARY INTELLIGENCE said he thought the recommendations in the report were too restrictive. He could see no objection to the release of the appreciations we had made of the possible use to which these sites might have been put by the Germans. THE SUB-COMMITTEE:Instructed the Joint Intelligence Staff, in consultation with the Inter-Services Security Board, to revise the report in the light of the point made at 'X' above. 5. INTELLIGENCE PERSONNEL FOR COUNTER INTELLIGENCE AND OTHER DUTIES IN GERMANY AND AUSTRIA THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a Minute by the Secretary (J.I.C./442/45, dated 3rd April, 1945), covering a Minute by the Director of Military Intelligence drawing attention to the heavy demands with which we would be faced for intelligence personnel for counter intelligence and other duties in Germany and Austria, and suggesting that to meet this demand, a cut might be made in the Army personnel controlled by the Security Service.
