3. COMBINED INTELLIGENCE OBJECTIVES SUB-COMMITTEE PROPOSED DIRECTIVE TO S.H.A.E.F. (Previous Reference: J.I.C.(45) 17th Meeting (0) Item 2) THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a telegram from the Joint Staff Mission in Washington (FENDER 140 dated 12th March 1945) containing a message from the U.S. members of the Combined Intelligence Staff saying that they did not agree to the issue of a special directive designed to exert pressure on S.C.A.E.F. to assist C.I.O.S. since it had not been proved that S.H.A.E.F.
