POTENTIAL LEAK IN THE BLOCKADE OF JAPAN THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a Minute by the Secretary (J.I.C./1646/44 dated 21st December, 1944) covering a memorandum from Mr. Vickers outlining the potentialities of a Japanese plan for exploiting a route from Europe to the Far East, starting from Sweden and passing through Russia. 'X' It was generally agreed that advantage should be taken of the Anglo-American-Swedish discussions for regulating Swedish trade to enlist Swedish support to defeat this Japanese plan.
