COLONEL VICKERS reminded the Sub-Committee that an agreement had been reached with the Ministry of Information that the Optel telegram would provide background information for the Press Attaches abroad, taking the place of telegrams formerly sent by the Ministry of Information. If it was decided to give up sending the Optel telegrams the Ministry of Information would have to be informed. THE SUB-COMMITTEE:(i) Instructed the Secretary to arrange for the despatch of the draft telegram. (ii) Invited the Chairman to discuss the value and form of the Optel telegrams with the Ministry of Information.
