2. CO-ORDINATION OF INTELLIGENCE IN THE FAR EAST WITH THE UNITED STATES. (Previous Reference J.I.C.(44)26th Meeting (0) Item I). SIR STEWART MENZIES referred to the discussion at the previous meeting about the proposal of the Director of Military Intelligence, that Enemy Branch should have a representative in Washington to work with the Americans on economic intelligence on the Far East. There would be difficulty in this as the Americans did not allow their Foreign Economic Administration to have special intelligence.
