After discussion, the SUB-COMMITTEE:Agreed that a weekly estimate of the German appreciation of our intentions regarding OVERLORD should be made by the Sub-Committee and instructed the Joint Intelligence Staff to prepare drafts accordingly. 3. ENCOURAGEMENT OF DESERTION OF RUSSIAN AND OTHER FOREIGN SOLDIERS IN THE GERMAN ARMY. THE DIRECTOR OF MILITARY INTELLIGENCE said that some 25 per cent. of the German Army in France and the Low Countries were non-Germans, and of these a large proportion were Russian.
