THE SUB-COMMITTEE invited the Security Service to examine and report on the memorandum annexed to J.I.C./457/44, with a view to submitting suggestions for an alternative. to the current Treasury instruction on the subject and for other means of controlling the release of secret and other important information. 4. THE USE OF DIPLOMATIC CARRIERS INTO OR OUT OF SWITZERLAND THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a minute by the Secretary (J.I.C./478/44, dated 27th March, 1944), covering a note by Colonel Vickers, suggesting that the Ministry of Economic Warfare should be responsible for organising the carriage of all material, involving the use of diplomatic carriers, in and out of Switzerland.
