THE SUB-COMMITTEE agreed:(i) That the Service Department for whose benefit any such Italian is brought or sent to this country should assume complete responsibility for this surveillance while in the United Kingdom and for making the necessary arrangements for his return journey as soon as possible after the purpose of his visit has been fulfilled. (ii) That the Security Service should be given the earliest possible notice of the impending arrival of any such Italian. (iii) That while in the United Kingdom any such Italian should be accommodated in a Service establishment under proper surveillance, and should not be allowed out unescorted into any public place, subject to such special arrangements as may be found desirable.
