Minutes of the thirty-fourth Meeting of the sub-committee, held in the Secretary's Room, Great George Street, S.W.1. on Tuesday, 6th July, 1943, at 10.15 am

3. RELEASE OF ECONOMIC INFORMATION. THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a Minute by the Secretary (JIC/971/43 dated 3rd July, 1943) covering extracts from a speech by Sir Robert Sinclair which it was proposed to issue to Mr. Nelson for confidential circulation to some twenty or more United States Industrialists. THE SUB-COMMITTEE:- Agreed that the document was suitable for issue as proposed, subject to certain minor amendments agreed in discussion. 4. VISIT OF MR. MASON, O.S.S. THE CHAIRMAN read a letter from Colonel Bebb, stating that Mr. Mason of the Office of Strategic Services was about to visit this country and recommending that he should see as much as possible of the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee and the Joint Intelligence Staff. COLONEL VICKERS stated that Mr. Mason was also a member of the Bombardment Committee and that three other members of this Committee were arriving in this country at the end of this week. He considered that a meeting should be arranged with these representatives of the Bombardment Committee. THE SUB-COMMITTEE:- (i) Invited the Chairman to arrange for Mr. Mason to attend their next meeting on Tuesday, 13th July, 1943, and to meet the Joint Intelligence Staff at some date convenient to him: (ii) Instructed the Secretary to ascertain from Professor Dennison the present situation of his investigation into German manpower and to report to the Chairman: (iii) Agreed that when this report was complete, Mr. Mason should be invited to discuss it with the Sub-Committee. (iv) Agreed to consider a meeting with the members of the Bombardment Committee after the meeting with Mr. Mason. Offices of the War Cabinet, S.W.1, 6TH JULY, 1943. -2-
