1. INTELLIGENCE IN BURMA. (Previous Reference: J.I.C.(42) 26th Meeting. Item 2). THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a Minute, No. M169, dated 26th August, 1942, by the Director of Military Intelligence which had been circulated personally to the members of the Sub-Committee. In this Minute reference was made to a Note by Brigadier Menziesx in which the views of the Government of Burma on the responsibility for collecting Intelligence in Burma were described. The Director of Military Intelligence had pointed out that experience showed that when two Intelligence authorities attempted to penetrate the same area, a clash of interest and loss of efficiency resulted.
