3. TRANSFER OF PERSONNEL OF M.I.9. THE DIRECTOR OF MILITARY INTELLIGENCE informed the Sub-Committee that an application had been received from a certain Officer employed on special work in relation to prisoners-of-war, for release from his present employment so that he might be transferred to an operational role in the Royal Air Force. THE DIRECTOR OF MILITARY INTELLIGENCE expressed the opinion that it was highly undesirable that Officers who had been engaged in work of this special character should be employed in any appointments carrying the risk of their being captured by the enemy.
