In discussion it was agreed that course (a) was the most desirable as by this method duplication was avoided and security increased. Certain suggestions were made as to what steps should be taken to make it X possible for Intelligence Sections (Operations) to cope with the amount of work involved if course (a) were adopted. THE SUB-COMMITTEE:Instructed the Secretary to refer the suggestions at 'X' above to the Directors of Intelligence for their consideration. 4. OPERATIONS ON THE CONTINENT. THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them J.I.C.(42)149(0) containing certain instructions from the Chiefs of Staff Committee.
