4. MACHINERY FOR THE ALLOTMENT OF PRIORITIES FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC RECONNAISSANCE. THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them (a) A circular letter from the Director of Military Intelligence No. Inf.277 dated 9th January 1942; and (b) A circular letter from the Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Intelligence) No. A.C.A.S.(I)/23A/42 dated 10th January 1942. THE DIRECTOR OF MILITARY INTELLIGENCE stated that whilst it might be that the difficulties to which he had drawn attention did not result, as had been suggested in his memorandum, from a shortage of aircraft, the fact remained that these difficulties existed.
