1. COVER FOR OPERATION "TRUNCHEON". THE SUB-COMMITTEE had before them a note by the Secretary covering a Memorandum by the Inter-Services Security Board (J.I.C.(41)444(0)), dated. 21st November. Paragraph C of that Memorandum detailed the cover plan: "from departure from Gibraltar until dark on D.-2." The Sub-Committee were reminded that they had previously deferred approval of this part of the plan in view of the possibility of confusion arising on account of operations now in progress in the Middle East and on account of any plans that might be decided upon in the Middle East.
