2. PHOTOGRAPHIC RECONNAISSANCES FOR INTELLIGENCE PURPOSES. MAJOR-GENERAL DAVIDSON said that he was very disturbed at the existing situation regarding photographic reconnaissance. He pointed out that photographic reconnaissance of the Franco-Spanish Border was urgently required as there had been no such reconnaissance since 22nd April, 1941. He understood that this was due to the fact that no long-range Spitfires were available for the task. GROUP CAPTAIN STUART informed the Sub-Committee that orders for the production of special photographic reconnaissance aircraft had been given the very highest priority.
