ANNEX I. Dear With reference to your letter of the 31st May addressed to Colonel Cornwall-Jones and my reply of the same date, on the subject of the exchange of intelligence between American and British agencies in the Far East, I am now able to inform you of the views of the British Departments to the proposal put forward by the American War Department. The British Departments welcome the closest co-operation between British and American officials throughout the Far East. Although you did not mention it in your letter, we assume, in view of the close collaboration which already exists, that your Navy Department will agree to co-operate in the exchange of Naval Intelligence in a similar manner.
