1. A COMBINED INTER-SERVICE INTELLIGENCE AND PLANNING COMMITTEE. THE SUB-COMMITTEE had under discussion J.I.C. (41)222 (Restricted Circulation). THE CHAIRMAN explained that the Sub-Committee had invited the Directors of Plans to the meeting in order to hear their views on their proposals. CAPTAIN DANIEL stated that whilst the Joint Planning Staff would be opposed to any suggestion that the Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee and the Joint Planning Staff should be combined, if he was right in assuming that the present proposal was that machinery should be devised to bring about closer contact and collaboration between the staffs of the two bodies on the G.1 level, the Joint Planning Staff welcomed the proposal.
