MR. RADCLIFFE replied that he would not stop publication because the statement would not be submitted to him before publication. THE CHAIRMAN said that he did not understand why a member of the public should be prosecuted for spreading alarm and despondency whereas no action would be taken against the Press acting in a similar manner. AIR VICE-MARSHAL MEDHURST expressed his fear that if no machinery existed to deal with present cases there would be a grave danger of a recurrence of such cases he considered there ought to be more control over editors.
