3. STUDY OF ENEMY INTENTIONS. THE SUB-COMMITTEE had under consideration a note by the Director of Military Intelligence J.I.C.(41) 58. After discussion THE SUB-COMMITTEE agreed:(a) to defer consideration of this paper for the present; (b) to record their opinion that the existence of the Future Operations (Enemy) Section did not in any way relieve the Directors of Intelligence of their responsibility for preparing for the Chiefs of Staff appreciations recording future enemy intentions and plans; (c) that when the next appreciation of future enemy strategy was prepared, to include in it a statement to the effect that the SubCommittee were aware that their report may impinge on the Future operations (Enemy) Section, and that they realise that some duplication of effort may accordingly result; (d) to invite the Future Operations (Enemy) Section to send a representative to the bi-weekly meetings of the Junior Members of the Sub-Committee.
