The cabinet War Room evening summary might well be dropped and the information contained in it merged into the next morning's summary. At present this was issued very late and, in practice, arrived only a short time before the Cabinet War Room morning summary, produced next morning. The Situation Report of the French Colonies should be discontinued, or, at any rate, issued only weekly. THE SUB-COMMITTEE agreed:(a) that a revision of the issue of summaries on the above general lines was required; (b) to instruct the Secretary to put forward a paper for their approval for transmission to the Chiefs of Staff.
