Anglo-French Liaison Section of the Secretariat of the C.I.D. Note by the Secretary

1 Jun 1938

3. It is clear that the British members of the Joint Anglo-French Military Staffs will require the whole-time services of a Secretariat. It has been decided that the most convenient course will be to combine the Staff required for (a) the Secretariat to the British Officers on the Joint Anglo-French Military Staffs, and (b) the Staff of the Central French Liaison Section. 4. Accordingly, the duties of the Anglo-French Liaison Section will be as follows:(1) To provide the Secretariat for the British Staff of the Joint Anglo-French Military Staffs: (2) To act as a Central French Liaison Section for matters on which contacts have been established with the French, other than covered by (1) above.
