160 3. Germany aims at achieving a dominant position in Europe based on her military strength. Thanks to the efficiency with which plans have matured over a period of years to prepare the nation's industries for the mass production of armaments, Germany has in the short time since the advent of the National Socialist Government created an Air Force comparable in number, although to a certain degree inferior in efficiency, to that of any other great Power except U.S.S.R. She has also increased the strength of her Army from ten divisions in 1933 to nearly thirty-six fully equipped divisions today.
