Indeed, I feel that his value to the Joint Planning Committee will be enhanced by this arrangement, by reason of the more intimate knowledge of the intelligence situation that he will acquire as the result of it. I have therefore given instructions that Major Hollis should undertake the duties of Secretary to the Joint Intelligence Committee without the reservations contemplated in the above quoted Conclusion. I am writing an identical letter to the Chief of the Imperial General Staff and the Chief of the Air Staff.
