EXERCISE TO TEST THE WAR ROOMS. (Papers Nos. J.I.C.85 and 86). THE SUB-COMMITTEE had under consideration terms of reference from the Deputy Chiefs of Staff Sub-Committee (Paper No. J.I.C.85), together with a draft hypothetical setting for the War Room exercise to be held on the 17th February, 1939 (Paper No. J.I.C.86). A Paper showing the naval situation as regards German, Italian and Japanese naval forces was circulated at the Meeting and agreed upon. The draft narrative was examined in detail, and a number of amendments were incorporated.
