Japanese Shipping Requirements. (Paper No: J.I.C.6. Para. 5(b) of Covering Note and Para. 36 of Singapore Appreciation. THE SUB-COMMITTEE agreed that the figure of 150,000 tons shown in paragraph 36 of the Singapore Appreciation was far too low and that, apart from bulk stores, aircraft, bombs, fuel, ammunition reserves and maintenance stores, the estimate of 240,000 tons put forward by the Admiralty and the Industrial Intelligence Centre represented a more correct figure. WING COMMANDER MEDHURST commented on the difficulties inherent in the transport, by sea, of aircraft.
