A file of correspondence concerning the efforts of the Ministry of Economic Warfare (MEW) to smuggle Swiss-manufactured goods with military or intelligence applications, such as watch bearings, drills, measuring and timekeeping devices, and others, in operations referred to as "Danegeld". The file contains a report on methods used to smuggle goods through Nazi-occupied Europe to neutral countries such as Spain and Sweden, and from there to the UK, as well as correspondence relating to the security implications of circulating the report to the War Cabinet.
