A file of correspondence and meeting minute extracts concerning the finances of the Home Defence (Security) Executive, relating to consular security and operations in South America, Spain, Portuguese colonies in Africa, and the United States of America. Subjects discussed in the file include ministerial responsibility for funding of the Security Executive; security arrangements of embassies in the USA; staffing and building costs of the Security Executive; gratuities for voluntary radio operators at the end of the war; expenses incurred by the Foreign Office on behalf of the Consular and Industrial Security Organisations; rates of pay of security personnel; plans to counter Axis and communist propaganda efforts to deter foreign seamen from going to sea, thereby depriving Britain of supplies; and settling the accounts of the Security Executive after its closure in July 1945.
