A small file of correspondence concerning the sale of diamonds in Madrid and elsewhere to finance Special Operations Executive (SOE) operations in the Balkans and the purchase of foreign currency. Sales of diamonds in Madrid had proven slower than expected, so some diamonds were transferred from Madrid to elsewhere in the Mediterranean. The correspondence in this file relates to the administration of sums of money transferred from SOE funds to a Treasury account in Madrid in exchange for the diverted diamonds.
