Russian Anti-British Activities in the Middle East

22 Jul 1946

(A) RUSSIAN ANTI-BRITISH ACTIVITIES IN THE MIDDLE EAST Open Propaganda 2. General For the moment the Russians are concentrating on the destructive role of criticising BRITAIN, but it must be realised that the mere existence in RUSSIA of a regime which is totally different has a considerable attractive force to the MIDDLE EAST. Moreover, the Communist way of life as portrayed by the Left-Wing press is sufficiently well known to be accepted by many as the best alternative to the present systems. In this way, without any effort on the part of RUSSIA, a constructive appeal is made to the local peoples.
