Russian Startegic Interests and Intentions - Middle East

22 Jul 1946

V/C/17 FOREIGN OFFICE, S.W.1. 4th September, 1946. I have been asked by the Foreign Office to raise one further point about J.I.C.(46) 76 Final on Russian Strategic Interests and Intentions in the Middle East. It is felt here that it would be of the greatest importance for this report to be brought to the attention of the U.S. Chiefs of Staff and the President of the United States. It will also be useful to suggest to the Americans that it is time that the truth about Russia's position and opportunities in the Middle East were made known to Congress and U.S.
