COPY BIOLOGICAL WARFARE INTELLIGENCE The part which biological warfare may be expected to play in future warfare is indicated in the report on Future Developments in weapons and Methods of War (D.O.(46) 89). In view of its importance the Defence Committee last year decided that biological warfare research in this country should be continued in peace time. 2. The Biological Warfare Sub-Committee recently approved in principle a programme of research in biological warfare which has as one of its primary objectives the discovery and development of defensive measures against this form of warfare, so that precautions may be taken in time to protect not only the armed forces but also the civil population of this country.
