22 Jul 1946

COPY A.C.A.S.(I)/367/46 The Secretary, J.I.C. Copies to: D.D.I.3. D.D.I. (Org. & S.) Colonel Michels, head of the Netherlands Technical Intelligence Service, has offered British participation in interrogation of 500 Dutchmen, recently returned from Russia. These men were press-ganged for forced labour by the Germans and after being "liberated" by the Russians, were moved into Russia for work on industrial projects. Some of them are said to have been employed in factories behind the Urals. 150 members of the party died during their long journey back to Holland.
