The Chairman, Joint Intelligence Sub-Committee. 1. On the 17th July, 1945. the Sub-Committee had before them a letter from myself in my then capacity of Director General of Postal and Telegraph Censorship Department commenting on the point of view of postal and telegraph censorship and the proposal for a Joint Intelligence Bureau as set out in the annex to the Minutes of a Sub-Committee dated 24th May, 1945, under No. JIC/687/45. The Sub-Committee were good enough to agree with the report I had made, and also to agree that the Standing InterDepartmental Committee on Censorship should call on the Joint Intelligence Bureau for assistance as desired.
