Beach Intelligence in the U.K.

22 Jul 1946

SECRET Intelligence Division, Naval Staff, Admiralty, S.W.1. P.908 30th July, 1946. Secretary, J.I.C. Additional item for discussion at next J.I.C. Meeting Lt.Cdr. Kiker, U.S.N., and his requirement for Beach Intelligence. The U.S. Navy are anxious to collate beach information on the West Coast of England. The Americans consider that this would be an insurance against any future possibility of England being over-run by an enemy a situation that would require beach information in order that the British Isles might be recaptured.
