Relation of Overlord to the Mediterranean

10 Sep 1943

Initial German Opposition and Rates of Build-up in Albania 4. On the basis of the present disposition of the German forces in Albania all that can be said with any certainty is that initial resistance on D day will consist of the division (100 Lt.Div.) already in the Durazzo area and that this will be reinforced by 297 Inf. Div. from the Scutari area by D + 2. The divisions at present available for further reinforcement appear to consist of the I Panzer Division at Skoplje and the I Mtn. Div. in North Western Greece.
