CAB 159/14 JIC(35) 105th Mtg, item SECRET U.K. EYES ONLY (b) The Committee recognised that the security of some N.A.T.O. countries was weak and was supporting steps to improve it. (c) In assessing 3 country's state of security, its "goodwill" towards Western ideals was an important factor. (d) The present Table 'X' of M.M.I.E(51)40 Final, though convenient, was too much a rule of thumb and would need modification to cover not only general releases of information, e.g. the sale of classified aircraft; but also closely controlled releases of information, e.g., the acceptance of students on classified courses.
