PERIMETER REVIEW SECRET J.I.C.(53) 87th Meeting, Minute 6 dated 13th August, 1953) (Previous reference: THE COMMITTEE had their weekly review of current intelligence to determine whether there were any indications of Soviet or Soviet inspired aggression. (See Annexes I and II) MR. DEAN said that there were varying views with regard to the reasons for the Soviet Note of August 4th. It was obviously connected with the forthcoming German elections, but he felt it would probably have very little effect in Germany.
