CONFIDENTIAL Air Ministry had stated that, if a member of another Service was to relieve Group Captain Sadler, they would be prepared for the relief to take place in November, 1953; if, on the other hand, Group Captain Sadler was to be relieved by a R.A.F. officer, then he should complete his full 2½ year appointment and should not be relieved until the Spring of 1954. MR. KING said that the job of the U.K. member of the S.G.I.C. was obviously very difficult and needed a very capable officer. He thought it might be undesirable to relieve Group Captain Sadler prematurely, It was relevant to note, too, that the proposed re-write of S.G.161/3 in the Autumn of 1953 might be very difficult for a newcomer.
