SECRET and that most of the firms had not shown great interest in the proposal. The lists under consideration showed the firms which ought to be interested as opposed to those which would necessarily, in fact, be interested. He suggested that the Federation of British Industries should be asked for their comments on these lists and whether they would be prepared once again to make the eventual approach to the companies. MR. ANDERSON said that firms had not been approached since 1946 and that conditions had changed considerably since then.
