CONFIDENTIAL 4. JOINT INTELLIGENCE MAP ROOM (Previous reference: J.I.C.(53)22nd Meeting, Minute 7 dated 26th February, 1953). MR. REILLY informed the Committee that he had had a discussion with Sir Harold Parker on the proposed Joint Intelligence Map Room, the outcome of which was that Sir Harold Parker much regretted that he could not see his way to establishing a long term appointment for an officer to plan and operate the Map Room. Mr. Reilly suggested that it was now for the Committee to decide finally whether one of the Service Departments could provide an officer or, if they could not, whether the whole project should be abandoned.
