SECRET 3. REVIEW OF THE SITUATION ROUND THE SOVIET AND SATELLITE PERIMETER AND OTHER SENSITIVE AREAS (Previous reference: J.I.C.(53)15th Meeting, Minute 1 dated 5th February, 1953). THE COMMITTEE had their weekly review of the situation round the Soviet and Satellite perimeter and other sensitive areas, to determine whether there were any indications of Soviet or Soviet inspired aggression. (See Annexes I and II). AIR COMMODORE JONAS referred to paragraph 6 of the reportø by the Joint Intelligence Committee, Middle East, on signs of significant changes in the Egyptian situation, There had since been news of the movement of one squadron of Vampires from Cairo to E1 Arish close to the Israeli border, possibly for bombing and firing trials.
