CONFIDENTIAL 2. SOVIET LONG TERM PREPARATIONS FOR WAR ANNUAL REVIEW OF MAJOR DEVELOPMENTS (Previous reference: J.I.C.(53)8th Meeting, Minute 1, Conclusion (4) dated 21st January, 1953). In accordance with the conclusion of the meeting quoted above, THE COMMITTEE considered whether a report should be prepared reviewing Soviet long term preparation for war during the last twelve months. MR. KING reminded the Committee that the last annual report+ of this type had been produced in 1951. No annual report had been produced in 1952 because the report on 'Soviet and Satellite War Potential, 1952-1955'ø had just been completed.
