### SECRET 2. EVASION, ESCAPE AND RESCUE IN THE MIDDLE AND FAR EASTERN THEATRES THE COMMITTEE had before them a minute by the Secretary+ covering a report by the Evasion and Escape Sub-Committee, recommending the establishment of a post in each of the Middle and Far Eastern theatres to coordinate the planning of evasion and escape recovery operations and tactical escape lines in war. WING COMMANDER MARSHALL said that evasion, escape and rescue planning in the Middle East and Far East had now reached the stage when it became necessary to plan specific operations for the first three months of war.
