CONFIDENTIAL H.M. Minister's suggestion that a high powered clerk should be appointed to the Military Attache had been implemented, although it appeared that the new man was not high powered enough. The Foreign Office supported the views of H.M. Minister GROUP CAPTAIN PAUL said that the Air Ministry maintained their view disagreeing with H.M. Minister that there were no opportunities for gathering information which would justify the appointment of an air attache. A good officer could always make such opportunities, and it was considered that the lack of such an appointment would be detrimental to our intelligence position.
