RESTRICTED 1. LIAISON WITH B.B.C. MONITORING SERVICE REAR ADMIRAL BUZZARD said that, with the possibility of a reduction in the grant in aid, the B.B.C. were seeking to effect economies wherever possible and there was a question whether the Liaison Officer to the Intelligence Departments from the B.B.C. Monitoring Service might be declared redundant. Before such a step was taken he considered that it was important that Sir Ian Jacob should be fully aware of the views of the Committee on the value of the Liaison Officer.
