SECRET 1. TITLE OF INTELLIGENCE DIVISION, GERMANY (Previous reference: J.I.C.(52)19th Meeting, Minute 7 dated 8th February, 1952). THE COMMITTEE had before them a minute by the Secretary+ covering a minute by General Kirkman on the title to be adopted for the Intelligence Division, Germany, on the establishment of a contractual agreement. COLONEL WILLIAMS that said the War Office maintained the view that, provided the new name for Intelligence Division did not indicate in any way that it should come under the control of S.H.A.P.E., the opinion of the High Commissioner, or his Deputy, should be accepted.
